About

Hi, I'm Sharman

I'm a Senior UX Designer based in India.

I've spent 4 years designing products for Fintech, AI startups, Automotive, and Healthcareand I write about what I learn here.

Why UX Breadcrumbs exists

I started this blog in 2018 because I kept noticing the same thing. Most design writing is either too academic to be useful or too shallow to be real. I wanted a place to write the way I'd explain things to a colleague over coffee. Clear, opinionated, based on actual work.

Then AI happened. And suddenly the questions I was getting weren't just about design anymore. They were about parenting in an AI world. About what designers should be doing differently. About whether the craft I spent years learning still matters.

This blog is where I'm working through those questions in public.

What I write about

  • AI for Parents: How I'm thinking about raising kids alongside AI tools, without the doom-mongering or the hype.
  • AI & Design: What AI is actually doing to the UX profession, from someone shipping work with it daily.
  • UX Laws: Deep dives on the design psychology I use in my own work, including Hick's Law, Fitts's Law, Miller's Law, and more.
  • UX.Unmasked: Real-world examples of design failing in the wild, broken down with what should have happened instead.

Who this blog is for

  • Designers figuring out their place in an AI-shaped industry
  • Parents who want practical takes on AI without panic
  • Anyone curious about why design choices shape everyday life
  • People who'd rather read one careful essay than ten hot takes

Where else to find me

A note on the name

"Breadcrumbs" is the navigation pattern that helps users find their way back. That's what I'm trying to do here. Leave a trail of useful design thinking that someone, somewhere, might trace their way through. If even one post saves you an hour or changes how you look at something, the blog has done its job.
